Summer Missionary Staff 2023

Mt Hope Staff

Our Mt Hope team consists of missionary and paid staff. Executive Director Bud Englund and his wife Rita are serving as full time missionaries and are in their 6th year serving at Mt Hope. Our paid full-time staff includes our Maintenance Director Smiley and we are excited to announce we have hired a new Program Director, Bennett Morrison. Along with Bennett, his wife, Kayle will be serving as a missionary overseeing our guest services. We are excited to have this well rounded team to work together to move forward and improve Mt Hope. We are continuing the search for a full time cook, please keep this in your prayers. Our staff will continue to strive to stay true to our camps mission: To provide a distraction free environment for people to come and grow closer to the Lord and other believers.

Director - Bud Englund

Bud and his wife Rita come to Mt. Hope with a long history of serving in youth and children's camp ministries. They met in their early 20’s serving at Wolf Mt. Camp in Grass Valley. Bud was working as a counselor of a teen work crew and Rita was a lifeguard.  Bud also worked as a young adult at Mt. Hope under Dave Delle. Later, when their four kids started attending church camps, they dove back into camp ministry. Bud volunteered as a medic and Rita as a counselor and later as an assistant director. Bud and Rita currently attend OroNaz Church in Oroville. Bud serves in youth ministries and helps wherever he is needed, and Rita is on staff working in children's ministries. Bud and Rita enjoy hanging out with family and friends and serving in various ministry and mission opportunities. Bud has an amazing testimony of how God led him back to serve at Mt Hope that he loves to share over a cup of coffee. Bud and Rita are excited for this new challenge God has given them and to see how God is going to work through their lives here at Mt. Hope Bible Camp

Program Director - Bennett Morrison

Bennett and his wife Kayle both come from backgrounds of summer camp and ministry. Bennett has been involved in camp ministry since he was a baby and has continued to serve camps in different roles throughout the years. Bennett graduated from Northwest Nazarene University with a kinesiology B.A. in recreation and sport management with an emphasis on outdoor recreation, as well as a business minor in management. When Kayle was in the third grade, her family answered God’s call to be missionaries in Peru where she lived until her senior year. Bennett and Kayle met at Diamond Arrow while both serving as Jr. Counselors for a kids camp. They continued to serve at other camps until their paths crossed again and they both decided to serve at Rock-N-Water for a summer. Bennett is currently serving as the Program Director at Mt. Hope while Kayle is in charge of Guest Services. During their free time, they enjoy going on adventures such as rock climbing, hiking, rafting, and skiing/snowboarding.

We Love Our Faithful Volunteers

Our goal at Mt. Hope is to provide affordable camping for all people. Our volunteers are a critical and necessary part in making that goal possible.
If you would like more information on plugging in as a volunteer, please give us a call. We would love to discuss the many fun and rewarding opportunities to serve God here at camp. We look forward to the opportunity to serve along side of you and have you on board as a member of the Mt. Hope ministry team.

Board of Directors

Here at Mt. Hope we are blessed to have a Board of Directors that are unified by their desire to fulfill the "Great Commission" through Christian Camping.  "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in[a] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,  teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Mt. 28:19-20) They are also committed to seeking God's will for Mt. Hope and are excellent stewards of the resources He provides.
